Hello,

i have a couple of question about this aspect of cjoverkill.

I each 2-3 weeks, i do a "repair database" ad then a "optimize database"... is this good?

Will be also better to set up a cron to do this each week?

Best Regards.

The repair is not needed unless you have something broken. Usually the script autorepairs every table if it gets broken due to some reason and issues a warning if that happens.

The optimization is mostly for use when you delete lots of trades or an entire site to pack the data into the database tables. It will have usually not big effect, but it will never hurt.

ah... thank you for info.

I saw in cpanel the cjoverkill database when i dont optimize it for some times, weeks...

take 14mb/14,5mb... when i optime, take only 11-12mb at max... this not help the server wo work faster?

Yes, it will, but in most cases that should not be a big improvement.

Of course, if you are on a busy server, then it's a good option.

Nice... is a way to cron the database optimize?

And, is better use the cjoverkill "optimize database" or the cpanel one?

Best regards.

You can cron it if you feel comfortable with that.

To cron it i have to cron just the optimyze.php in the admin directory?

No, you will need to cron a custom script that runs OPTIMIZE table_name_here

You cannot access the admin via external scripts because you need authentication for that.

ok, so better do manual optimization each some days/weeks :D

Thank you.
